UPDATE MARCH 1998
TILT-UP CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION
Tilt-up panels are formed with grade 40 or 60 reinforcing steel bars and ready mix concrete. Panels are cast horizontally like a floor slab. A form release agent is sprayed on the casting surface prior to the pour. After the concrete is set, the panels are lifted into position as load-bearing structural walls.
Tilt-up benefits include speed of construction at a reasonable cost, plus low maintenance and durability. Ready mix concrete and reinforcing steel are readily available locally. When tilt-up panels are used as load bearing elements, they eliminate perimeter beams and columns and simplify foundation design and construction. This reduces material and labor costs.
Members of the staff at QproQ Engineering, Inc. attended a CRSI Seminar on Tilt-Up Concrete Construction in December of 1997. Continuing education is an important aspect in design and a high priority of this company. Each seminar enhances the professional development and growth of the employees within the Firm. This knowledge is incorporated into the structural design and analysis of all projects completed by this Firm.
We enjoy our work with the architectural community, and appreciate your consideration. Should you wish to discuss the need for structural engineering services on your projects, please call at 570-823-9935. Thank You.
