REINFORCING STEEL IN SLAB-ON-GRADE CONSTRUCTION

Reinforcing steel, in the form of welded wire fabric or deformed bars in both directions, may be placed in the slab-on-grade for the following reasons.

Spans Soft Spots in Subgrade

Adds Restraint to Curling

Adds Structural Strength After Cracking

Increases Resistance to Impact
